Meet the Tutors
Laura Taylor MCIPS
Laura is an experienced Corporate Trainer based near Manchester in the United Kingdom who specialises in areas such as body language, procurement and influencing. Having a background in public and private sector procurement, Laura has trained over 2500+ professionals in these areas within the UK and globally for many multinational organisations.
Laura travels across the world to attend training with top experts in order to bring this knowledge back into her trainings. Having received many accolades over the course of her career on her engaging style and innovative approaches to learning, Laura is immensely proud to be the first UK based certified trainer of the Science of People and is passionate about the scientific background of the theory she teaches.
Barry Russell MCIPS
Barry’s career has been spent working overseeing the privatisation, cultural and change strategies, as well as the regeneration of the coal, steel, automotive, manufacturing and textiles industries.
Barry has also had 5 years’ experience as a lecturer for Leeds City College in Further Education involving the development of materials for lessons pertaining to the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, external examinations and the delivery of several modules for Business Management Degrees.
Barry is a member of both the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and the Institute for Learning (IFL), as well as being a UKAS Qualified Mechanical Technician.
Victoria Vincent MCIPS
Vickie is a passionate procurement professional working in the Aerospace, Security and Steel industries. Having started her early career in stock control and operations, Vickie could really see how buying it right is an organisation’s best chance to start every project off in the correct way and create the maximum opportunity to add value.
Vickie has over ten years’ experience working for different organisations in procurement roles, her last major role being a Purchasing Manager in a multinational, managing over €100M and an international team. Her key skills are project management, relationship management and negotiation.
Annette Pettman MCIPS
Annette has worked in procurement for over 20 years and started her career as a development technologist working in a Textile Dyeing and Finishing company, supplying customers such as Marks & Spencer. From here she moved into the Automotive sector where she established and managed an automotive testing laboratory with a team of people, as well as overseeing operation and supply chain functions. Annette was also involved with global companies, managing diverse cultural and operational environments.
Annette has also worked in the Aerospace industry as a Supply Chain Director and Managing Director. Having achieved MCIPS, CMI, APM and NLP she now teaches CIPS at levels 4, 5 & 6 in parallel to leading the Commercial and Procurement function of a successful 6th Form Public Sector College in her hometown.
Michael Keane MCIPS
Mike has been delivering CIPS courses for over 20 years, in addition to a range of graduate programmes within a higher education environment. Mike was also Chief Examiner for the CIPS Legal Aspects paper for 12 years and is presently the Principal Marker and Scrutineer for the PD6 Legal Aspects module. He has also contributed legal articles to the Supply Management magazine.
Mike has considerable experience delivering bespoke legal courses to a range of public and private clientele including blue chip companies. He also acts as Consultant to a number of businesses on a range of issues. His particular areas of interest include contract, employment and competition law.
Dave Dearing MCIPS
Dave has worked in the manufacturing industry for over twenty years in a range of management roles including purchasing, supply management and operations management.
Before moving into full time education, Dave gained experience working in both further educational colleges and universities delivering a wide range of professional and degree level courses. Dave is also a Principal Marker, Assessment Author and Senior Examiner and has gained many years’ experience both setting and marking exam papers for a range of exam boards.
Having achieved MCIPS and delivering CIPS programmes for over 20 years, Dave is a strong advocate of the professional support and adaptive teaching skills required, as well as the commitment needed to undertake these qualifications.
John Bellamy MCIPS
John is a procurement professional based near Liverpool with over fifteen years’ experience in multinational organisations across the Aerospace, Retail and Automotive sectors.
John has travelled extensively within procurement training roles, delivering procurement competencies to offshore procurement teams and implementing category strategies on a global scale.
In his capacity as a Champion for Business Ethics, John has extensive experience in adapting and delivering workshops that ensure teams develop an appreciation for sound business ethics, regardless of geographical location.
Steve Wills FCIPS
Steve is a Supply Chain and Procurement expert with extensive experience.
Steve was Vice President for AXA Financial where he founded the award winning Global Procurement College. Steve was also a senior adviser at the Olympic Games and was instrumental in the success of the safe delivery of the London Games.
Steve has been awarded the highest honour that his profession can bestow when he became ‘Professional of the Year’. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply and also sat on the CIPS Board of Management with responsibility for Education .
John Crisp MCIPS
John is an experienced Corporate Trainer based in the Midlands and has a background in private and public sector procurement. He has a real passion for procurement and training and is also a CIPS exam marker and a member of the Birmingham Branch of CIPS.
John is MCIPS qualified and a certified Member of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM). He is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and the International Association of Contract and Commercial Management (IACCOM).
Having started his career as an Engineering Apprentice, John attained an HNC in Mechanical and Production Engineering and has since gained over 28 years’ experience in procurement roles across a range of sectors.
