The CIPS Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply is designed for those in an operational role, who need the capability to carry out all tasks associated with procurement and supply operations efficiently and effectively.

This qualification aims to give individuals some insight into best practices, learn new skills and techniques.

What are the CIPS Level 3 entry requirements?

No former procurement qualifications or professional experience is necessary to enrol on this programme.

How is CIPS Level 3 assessed?

Your exams will be computer-based examinations. These will be taken at either a CIPS online regional examination centre or by a remote exam at a location of your choice.

Who is CIPS Level 3 aimed at?

The Advanced Certificate is ideal for junior buyers, supporting roles and those with under 2 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management. It is also suitable for those looking to enter the profession, in roles such as:

This course consists of the following five units:

L3M1 – Procurement and Supply Environments (Compulsory)

  • Know the different sectors of procurement and supply.
  • Understand types of pricing arrangements in commercial agreements.
  • Know the external environment and its impact on procurement and supply.
  • Understand procedures that regulate procurement and supply.

L3M2 – Ethical Procurement and Supply (Compulsory)

  • Know the different sectors of procurement and supply.
  • Understand types of pricing arrangements in commercial agreements.
  • Know the external environment and its impact on procurement and supply.
  • Understand procedures that regulate procurement and supply

L3M3 – Contract Administration (Compulsory)

  • Know techniques that can achieve added value and its contribution to organisational success.
  • Know tasks associated with each stage of the sourcing process.
  • Understand the significance of ethics for procurement and supply.
  • Understand how operational performance of the procurement and supply function can be measured and improved.

L3M4 – Team Dynamics and Change (Compulsory)

  • Know how the individual can support overall organisational success in procurement and supply.
  • Understand team dynamics and their influence on procurement and supply.

L3M5 Socially Responsible Procurement

Elective – This is the recommended module by CIPS Business Training

  • Understand the concepts of sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
  • Understand the environmental impact of procurement and supply.
  • Know the implications of CSR for the procurement and supply function.
  • Understand methods to monitor Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in procurement and supply.

Complete the online registration form HERE. Once completed you will receive an invoice for your course followed by an induction date and your online resources. During induction you will receive all dates and course information ready to start your CIPS journey.

Once you have completed level 3 you are qualified to move on to CIPS Level 4 Diploma.

Most students complete their Advanced Certificate over an academic year. However, as the course structure is modular, students can achieve the required 60 credits at their own pace. Our Distance Learning students can receive tutor support for 18 months.

Questions are in an Objective Response Format (OR).

These questions allow you to select a response from a list of possible answers. You will find these types of exams across all CIPS qualifications levels; they are marked by computer and then moderated by the CIPS examiners.
