What are the CIPS Level 5 entry requirements?
The entry requirement for the CIPS Advanced Diploma is successful completion of CIPS Level 4 Diploma.
How is CIPS Level 5 assessed?
Your CIPS Level 5 Advanced Diploma exams will be computer-based examinations and so will be taken at either a CIPS online regional examination centre or by a remote exam at a location of your choice. The 6 credit modules are assessed via a 1.5 hour Objective Response (multiple choice) exam. The 12 credit modules are assessed via 3 hour Constructed Response (written) exams.

CIPS Level 5 Advanced Diploma Module Information
PLEASE NOTE: The Level the CIPS Level 5 Advanced Diploma comprises 8 Modules (2 x full modules (12 credits) and 6 x half modules (6 Credits)).
Students must complete all eight modules to achieve the Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply.
CORE MODULES
L5M1: Managing Teams and Individuals
On completion of this module, learners will be able to evaluate the different schools of thought and the reasoning behind the variety of approaches to the management of themselves, individuals and groups or teams within organisations.
L5M2: Managing Supply Chain Risks
On completion of this module, learners will be able to appraise a variety of tools and techniques to establish the level of risk in supply chains and to recommend and apply ways of avoiding, mitigating or managing risk.
L5M3: Managing Contract Risk
Evaluate the legal and process issues relating to the formation of contracts and the legal implications of contractual non-conformance.
L5M4: Advanced Contract and Financial Management.
Develop measures to ensure and improve contract performance whilst assessing the concept of strategic sourcing and the financial aspects that may impact procurement and supply activity.
L5M5: Managing Ethical Procurement and Supply Chains
Explain the impact of and initiatives to improve, sustainability and the managerial approaches to promote ethical practices in procurement and supply.
ELECTIVE MODULES
L5M6: Category Management
Evaluate approaches that can be adopted to develop category management of both direct and indirect organisational expenditure and plan for the associated strategic processes.
L5M7: Achieving Competitive Advantage Through the Supply Chain
Assess a range of processes that support the achievement of competitive advantage and improvements in organisational performance through its supply chain.
L5M8: Project & Change Management
Assess the impact and implications of projects, examine approaches applied to the planning and management of projects and recognise the challenges associated with and methods to manage, achieve and maintain organisational change.
Operations Management [L5M9]
On completion of this module, learners will be able to understand the concepts of operations management
Logistics Management [L5M10]
On completion of this module, learners will be able to understand the concepts of logistics management that link to the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain
Advanced Negotiation [L5M15]
On completion of this module learners will be able to examine the key stages of the negotiation process and the influence of relationships and ethics on the process
